Able
Capable
Equal
Students face many challenges in college. The Able, Capable and Equal (ACE) organization provides an umbrella to reach out to students who need occasional shade, shelter and protection from the storms of college life. ACE, a student initiated group, has three purposes:
Awareness
- To generate awareness of other students, faculty, staff and administration regarding the concerns of WSC students with disabilities.
Support
- To create a support group for student with disabilities and their friends.
Relationships
- To develop a working relationship with other campus organizations.
The ACE umbrella offers support to student faced with challenges due to:
Physical disabilities
Learning disabilities
Mental disabilities
Sensory disabilities
Other related concerns
In past years members of ACE has organized disABILITY Awareness Days, sponsored wheelchair basketball games, spoken in classes and worked with the WSC administration on ADA compliance. Students with disabilities are part of overall campus cultural diversity at WSC which does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation or physical ability.
ACE is open to all students.
