Mission

It is the mission of A.C.E. and the Wayne State College Disability Services program to assist students with disabilities in reducing physical, programmatic and attitudinal barriers that might otherwise impede a student's success at Wayne State College (WSC). It is the goal of the WSC Disability Services Program to provide WSC students with disabilities with an equal opportunity to participate in the educational process and campus life of Wayne State College. The goal will be achieved through the provision of disability-related academic and personal support services.

A.C.E. has three purposes:

Awareness – To generate awareness about disabilities across the WSC campus with emphasis on the students "ability".

Support – To provide the opportunity for students to come together in a group to support each other regardless of the student's abilities or disabilities.

Relationships – To work with campus groups and organizations and recognize the importance of campus connectedness.

Wayne State College is an equal opportunity institution. WSC does not discriminate against any student, employee or applicant on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, or age in employment and education opportunities, including but not limited to admissions decisions. The College has designated an individual to coordinate the College's nondiscrimination efforts to comply with regulations implementing Title, VI, VII, IX, and Section 504. Inquiries regarding nondiscrimination policies and practices may be directed to Dr. Cheryl Waddington, Director of Human Resources, Tile VI, VII, IX Compliance Coordinator, Wayne State College, 1111 Main Street, Wayne, NE 68787, (402) 375-7403.
