2004 International Dinner and Entertainment Night Opening

Good evening!
Respected professors, dear fellow students and our honored guests! We would like to invite you all to a much awaited evening that is very close to the heart of the members of the international club. We welcome you to the 5th annual international dinner and entertainment night hosted by the international club.
Tonight we get to share with you some things that are very close to our hearts and souls. Tonight we want to bring our homes to your hearts. Tonight we want to celebrate the tastes of our countries, the rhythms of our languages, the echoes of our songs and the glimpses of our dances.
Wayne can feel like the middle of nowhere when we leave the comfort of our families and the familiarity of our cozy homes and travel seven seas. We got here scared, nervous, not knowing what the people would be like. We did not know that our best friends were waiting for our footsteps. We were unaware that a new family was waiting to embrace us. A wonderful surprise it was.
We want to thank you for devoting your time to get to know us. We want to take this time to thank you for welcoming us to thanksgivings, Halloweens and Christmases in your homes. Tonight we would like to express our heartfelt and sincere gratitude for all the times you made us feel wanted.
We hope you can take with you some glances of Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. Tonight we present you what our mothers cooked for us, what some of our very first words sounded like. This is what we sing when we are happy or even sad. This is how we dance when we celebrate. This is how we make friends.
Tonight we will travel together and celebrate multicultural ethnicity that is the soul of America.
Tonight we will celebrate our diversities and similarities.
Tonight we will weave memories together.
Let us make this night an occasion to celebrate our friendships.
We hope you will enjoy this evening.
