Touring Sides

Winnipeg, Canada & Purdue Univ. Plays in Wayne during March 2004 Tournament 38 teams at March Madness 2004 !!!

The city of Wayne is only 5,000 people but an event that can bring in 10,000 is the "Chicken Days" weekend. This is always the 2nd Sat. in July. This could be a great start or end of your tour by playing WSC and maybe another team during this weekend at our pitch.

The Wayne Tournament in 2004 hosted 38 teams for men and women and will normally be held in mid or late March. The social will be held at the 700 rugger capacity of Riley's Pub and Dance Hall that is fully equipped with a stage for live entertainment or Disc-Jockey Music.

If you are passing through the Wayne, Nebraska area you will be in a hotbed of several small teams to play on your trip. There are several small colleges and lower end D-3 and D-2 level men town teams. This also goes for the women clubs. Send us an e-mail and we will help with your planning.

If you are looking for a stronger side and wish to play a Division 1 team,
we hope to be part of a good social game against your B or C side during your tour.

Division 1 Men's Teams in the area:
Omaha GOATS
Kansas City Blues (Super League top in the USA)
Kansas City RFC
Des Moines
Iowa Falls
Minneapolis
St. Paul Minnesota

Several Division 2 and an endless amount of D-3 Level Clubs
Are in the Nebraska, Iowa, S. Dakota and Minnesota area.
Nebraska having 6 teams
Iowa having 34 teams
South Dakota having 5 teams
Minnesota having 26 teams
North Dakota having 2 teams

Rugby is in season from Mid-March through Mid-November.
Peak rugby season is April, May, September and October.
Snow rugby for sure in January and February.

Remember 10,000 people in Wayne in Mid-July for the Chicken Show Festival. A rugby game in Wayne will no doubt be a highlight of your tour playing at our new fields and playing in front of that many fans. Taking your tour to Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, South Dakota, Illinois or Colorado would be a great way to tie Wayne into playing those larger cities with higher level Men's and Women's Town Team Action and night life.
