The self proclaimed artist, writer, and lover of all things sci-fi/fantasy related, Jen Ptacek (formerly Dahl), knew she had found something ‘special’ after transferring to Wayne State College her sophomore year. Some say it was fate that she came to be acquainted with the sci-fi club and its members, including her future husband, and still others claim she stumbled in drawn to the scent of geeky goodness she so often denies a lust for. Whatever the reason she decided to stay and even join the club in 2002. In the three years she spent as a member, she served one as the ‘sexy-tary’ and proved to be a valuable asset to the group.
Some say Matt Ptacek, came from a galaxy far, far a way...While this has neither been proven nor disproven it has yet to be determined. One thing is certain though - he was and is a very big fan of sci-fi/fantasy which ultimately led to him joining the club as a freshman. |

Matt spent the next few years involved as an active member in the sci-fi club. Surprisingly, they trusted him with money, making him the treasurer for a year under the leadership of Will Pereira. The club is still yet to learn of his secret bank accounts in Switzerland. He made a lot of friends and also managed to woo the ladies, even convincing one to marry him. This may of required a jedi mind trick...no one knows about this (does motion for the mind trick).
Jen’s love of someone ‘talking nerdy ’got the better of her and with that added bonus of leet skillz from Matt, she ended up not only dating but marrying him. The couple married in August of 2007 and currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska. They continue in their quest to be just as nerdy as they like while also being working stiffs on the side. Jen currently has her own deviant art-site displaying her novice works and obvious affection for fantasy art which she updates on a fairly regular basis. The Ptaceks still ‘game’ doing a variety of activities ranging from Cons, fairs, role-playing (get your minds out of the gutter), and all in all acting like complete geeks, dorks, and nerds…and LOVING every minute of it. They just like to make everyone ‘normal’ feel stupid.
