About

In the fall of 1997, seven girls on the eighth floor of Bowen Hall met and became fast friends. As a joke, they started an anti-sorority called Zeta Eta Theta Marmelada 69 or ZETM 69 for short. IN the fall of 1998 there was talk of becoming an official sorority that would be recognized on campus, but nothing was really done about it. Then, toward the end of spring 1999 the girls made a commitment to make their dream a reality. The name Zeta Tau Omega was chosen and they began to go through the necessary steps to be officially recognized as a campus organization. On April 12th, 1999, the founding mothers of ZTO went to Greek Council, seeking their support. On August 29th, 1999 Zeta Tau Omega was fully recognized as a campus organization by the Wayne State College Student Senate. Those seven girls were: Carrie Blanchard, Nicky Fritz, Laura Briggs, Gina Boorn, Ann Hoshstein, Hilarie DeGoei, Shannon Kobes, Stephanie Peterson, Angie Schuerman, Heather Buryanek, Missy Shieuer.

Motto

"Friendship is what brought us here, Sisterhood is how we'll survive."

Why we are the Ducks

On top of the water we are calm and collective, but underneath we are kicking like hell

We fly in a "V" shape (when the first one gets tired the others fill in)
