— ETHICS STATEMENT

The WSC Mentoring Program will operate with a strong ethical component governing rules of conduct of the participants in the program. Both Mentors and Mentees will agree to abide by the following ethical conduct by agreeing to participate in the program.

  1. Confidentiality - Both Mentors and Mentees will respect comments made to them in confidence.

  2. Relationship boundaries - The Mentor Program will be established to respect relationship issues already addressed in employee union contracts. The Mentor program participants will be expected to maintain professional relationships with each other.

  3. Description of the program - The Mentor Program is not a substitute for a supervisory relationship and Mentors should not assume supervisory responsibilities for Mentees.

  4. Attitude - The Mentors should be objective, unbiased and non-judgmental.

— OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

The Oversight Committee will include one representative from each staff senate and either the President or her designee.

— SCREENING PROCESS

The Oversight Committee will follow the same process to review and screen applicants for mentors and mentees. The following issues will be considered:

    1. Ethics

    2. Time availability

    3. Staff person's ability to commit to the proces
