Meeting Minutes
3/18/05
Present: Derek Anderson, Lin Brummels, Brandon Eckmann, Eddie Elfers, Dave Graber, Cheri Polenske
Absent: Oliver Twelvetrees, Dorothy Weber
Support Staff Representative: Bill Long
Other professional staff: Jennifer Crom
The meeting was called to order at 11:10, a quorum was present.
The February minutes were approved.
Committee Reports:
- Mentoring: No report.
- Social: A spring function may be a possibility.
- Recognition: No report.
- Continuing Education: Dave reported that a History of WSC program by Kent Blaser is being planned and the information will be included in the WSC bulletin.
- Membership: No report.
- Hospitality: No report.
- Policy: No report.
- Communication: Eddie will have the meeting announcements posted in the campus at a glance notifications.
Lin will write up a proposal to present to the Foundation office to request professional development grants, more information to come.
A discussion was held regarding the VPAA search. Many senators attended the open interviews and submitted the evaluation forms.
Eddie reported that 2 candidates had been interviewed for the Dean of Education position and third and final interview was scheduled for the following week.
Lin spoke about the highlights from the last three general education committee meetings.
A new orientation manual for new WSC Employees was circulated.
The meeting adjourned at 11:45. The next meeting will be April 1, 2005 at 11:00 in the Bluestem Room.
